Burke's kinda work

Still trying to figure out if Brian Burke actually likes the spotlight or just uses it to relay his message? He does after all have a politician's exterior qualities, minus the slimy facade. It is his presence however that gives us a perception of confidence; the confidence of leadership, something the Maple Leafs have been without since the Pat Quinn era.

What's easy to tell is that Burke knows the task of reviving the Maple Leafs is beyond anything he's done before, even anything he could imagine. With the grand scope of the challenge always in front of him he is forced to be brutally honest about the road ahead, while giving one the feeling its a road worth traveling. Considering the Leafs' history their modern day followers are grizzled nomads by now, always going somewhere and never ending up anywhere. Perhaps direction is finally at hand? Spend some time with Brian Burke and you get the sense he knows where he wants to go. The struggle of his professional life: dragging that stagnant behemoth with him.
