Moats v Powell take

I feel for Officer Powell’s bretheran. This has to be tough for them. They’re embarrassed one of their own would do something like this, yet obliged to protect him. From my perspective: too bad for Powell.

Think about it for a moment?

How many innocent people do police help put away every year? Sure, way less than those who should be behind bars, still the wrongly accused and wrongly convicted suffer. Its all too bad for those unfairly locked-up, but someone has to pay.

Is firing Powell for this nonsense a just punishment? Depends on how outraged you are.

Should Powell be fired? Well, his judgement in this situation was so darn poor its frightening. Sickening, actually. Whether its ultimately the right thing to do somene has to pay for this misuse of authority and Powell has "fire me" written all over him. Hey, life isn’t fair. Ask Ryan Moats who didn't get a chance to say goodbye. Or better yet ask one of those dudes rotting away for nothing. The shoe is on the other foot tonight, and it fits.
