Can't say I dislike the moves Brian Burke made on TDD, though it would've been nice to see him get something for guys like Poni and Matt Stajan. I see neither as a part of this team in the distant (hopefully successful) future. Still, 4 picks coming back, 3 for sure this spring does mean something. Its all about being in position to make a selection and precisely what the Leafs will be doing more of in Montreal than at drafts of the past.I really hope they'll eye the best of what's available from the OHL. Hey, ex-Soo Greyhound Jiri Tlustly isn't turning out too bad. He's like the hottest AHL'er on the planet. As long as he stays there for the rest of this season.
Condolences to my colleague Brent Lale. Sadly his grandfather passed away tonight. He was 92. A death to be mourned, a long and tremendous life to be celebrated.
