Think about it, John

According to Steve Simmons' report in the Toronto Sun http://www.torontosun.com/sports/columnists/steve_simmons/2009/03/15/8753676-sun.html the agent for John Tavares says his client is willing to go anywhere he's drafted. I've said all along Tavares should think twice about joining an organization on the brink. In this case the Islanders, Thrashers and Coyotes easily come to mind as being both on tenuous ground and AGAIN in position to grab ANOTHER blue chipper. Sure, it would be an insult to hockey fans in those places, but a Tavares snub would also send a message. That message: Garbage teams must get their acts together, especially off the ice before enjoying the fruits of a young star's labour. Really, why would Tavares want to go to team that may or may not be in that location when he begins coming into his own as a pro? A junior player with promise should be offered the same kind of promise by the organization privileged enough to select him. If a potential partnership doesn't appear equal, the parties potentially involved should have the right to avoid it.
