I've said all along.. AND CONTINUE TO BELIEVE.. John Tavares should think twice about joining an organization on the brink. In this case the Islanders come to mind. Its a team on tenuous ground and AGAIN in position to grab ANOTHER blue chipper. Sure, it would be an insult to hockey fans on the Island, but a Tavares snub would also send a message: Garbage teams must get their acts together, especially off the ice before enjoying the fruits of a young star's labour.
Really, why would Tavares want to go to team that may or may not be in that location when he begins coming into his own as a pro? A junior player with promise should be offered the same kind of promise by the organization privileged enough to select him. If a potential partnership doesn't appear equal, the parties potentially involved should have the right to avoid it.
