Free agency is here and I'm still not convinced that any of the prizes available to be won will ultimately help the Leafs win the prize that really matters.
All of this chatter regarding the Sedins landing in Toronto is scaring me. Yeah I know, they're talented, but as we're about to find out they're also going to be expensive and a burden. Say the Leafs sign'em and they shit the bed? Or one does? How do you get rid of him, or them? It appears everywhere they go they MUST go together. That means in and out, right? Inking them is easy. Getting ink undone, now that's the tricky part. While BB says he wants to spend to the cap, he's also stated that he wants to spend his employers' money wisely. Paying "the twins" huge cash for years to come at this stage of the franchise's push back to respectability wouldn't oblige that mandate. Hey, as family man, I don't usually advocate putting a limit or a price tag on brotherly love. But I do in this case. Two for the price of one? Sure. Two for the price of an entire team? Pass please. The Sedins may be landing in Toronto alright. Hopefully to catch a connecting flight and not a taxi.
Prediction: Mattias Ohlund will be a Leaf sometime on Wednesday. Chris Neil too.
And WTF is up with Dany Heatley? This guy should look in the mirror instead of his stat sheet.
Those last three words made me put my head through my monitor.
ReplyDeleteThis is why I stopped talking bad about Neil late last season - I figured we might be seeing him in a Leafs jersey in July.
ReplyDeleteThat said the second he goes some where else I get target practice on dumbo the punching bag.
Don't you just get the feelin BB is going to bring that ugly bastard to the land of beauty?
