The Legend, Ray Scapinello will be on the Da Hook tonight, 5:30 at am980.ca. The guy's career as an NHL official went for decades. He's been out of the game a few seasons now, so what's he been doin'? The latest with Ray, plus Scott Carnegie will join the program too. Scott's not once, but twice a major lacrosse league champion in 2009. He's lugging around both the NLL and Mann cup trophies these days. It's a rare accomplishment to win both, not to mention accompany both. Scott will tell us what it's like to be one of the lucky few to have actually pulled it off.
Scampy, Carnegie, Stangs and Leafs talk to come on Da Hook tonight.
Liverool v United
A huge thanks to both Mike Boothman and Ian Clarke for their time and passion last night. One's a United supporter, the other a Liverpool supporter. The two went head-to-head on the issues facing their clubs, and of course on the debate over which of the two is superior. Again, I love these types of shows. They're filled with discussion, laughter and passion. As for the result? In terms of who laid it out best, I'm going with a 3-3 draw. Each was diplomatic in his approach to the conversation, why should I be any different?
Down, but not out. Never out
No one hurt more from that Western loss to Queen's last Saturday than John Surla. The 3rd year Mustangs' linebacker took it personal. It was his defence core after all that surrendered the game winning touchdown with seconds to spare. The defeat was hard to swallow for John. He was still trying to get it down on Da Hook last night. I think though, by the time our interview wrapped up he had finally consumed it, coming to terms with the loss and clearing a path towards the next challenge. Now it's all about Western prepping for the playoffs. Once there, the Stangs have to wreck havoc on everyone and anyone in their way. Perhaps those losses to Mac and Queen's have awoken the beast within the beast? Time will tell, but it's likely, especially if guys like John and QB, Michael Faulds lead the charge. Good luck to Mike in his quest for big numbers and history Saturday against the Blues.
