Big deal

Toronto wins the right to host the 2015 Pan Am games. Yeah, so? If the event ever did boast status it appears long lost today. Geez, Winnipeg has hosted the thing twice. Other International heavyweights to welcome the games: Cali, Columbia, Indianapolis and Santo Domingo AND Soon Toronto. How honoured it must feel! It's become such an event of importance and intrigue American TV networks don't even cover it anymore, and hey, by the time 2015 rolls around who's going to cover it here? The Crown Corp. TV network? That's all we'll have left. Local TV should be long dead by then. And if our National networks aren't flat lining too, they'll be close...when the Western Hemisphere descends upon Toronto!

But hey, it's another opportunity for amateur athletes to compete at a high level. Or so we hope.

Can't tell you if the Leafs are going to finally win one tonight, but I can guarantee they'll end up in either overtime or a shootout with the Hurricanes. Carolina's been smokin' lately too...losers of 10 in a row. Sounds about the right time to break the streak...with the Leafs in town.

I'm fully aware no one likes a know-it-all.
