How is Andre Dawson finally a hall of famer in 2010, but not the past 8 years or so? I mean he's been eligible for a long time, so why is it that he's only good enough to make the cut now? You either meet the criteria to penetrate the gates of Cooperstown or you don't... right? Then again, this is baseball's hall we're talking about. A place where admission isn't usually as simple as fulfilling your baseball requirement to get in. It can be a popularity contest with the voters, or that trip through humiliation they annually sponsor. Depends on where they're coming from? Literally.

Took him nearly a decade to suck up to those fat, lazy, biased baseball bastards who vote on this thing. It's obvious (snub after snub) his numbers were never good enough. His endurance, patience and acceptance of all the bullshit they've put him through, another story. Hope the honour is worth what this ridiculous process stole from his dignity.
The Hall may not suck, but the people who keep you from the place sure do. Maybe next year, Robbie? Most likely never, Jack... Bert. Remember, it's not whether you're good enough. It's not about that anymore.
