Sure would've been nice to see the Jays beat the Yanks two of three. But what can you do? Especially in the rubber-match with CC Sabathia dealin' the way he was. It's how this team rebounds that'll help us figure it out. The amazing kind of start needed to guarantee contention in late August is still under construction. The quicker to 40 wins the better, then get to 50 fast and go from there. It's possible the Jays reach those milestones before anyone else. There's also nothing preventing a skid that could have them playing .500 baseball by the end of the month. Again, the Jays need to keep stealing wins in this early going. They'll make up for those games stolen from them late in the season, but you've got to have one to afford the other.
The young, promising season moves forward. Time to get a least a pair from the White Sox. Two victories would keep things steady. Three wins would prove again the Central isn't on par with the East. Hopefully the Jays can do their part.

In it to win it
God bless, Roy Halladay. Toronto's best professional athlete with ease.
Is he Canada's best?? Why not?

"...according to the Elias Sports Bureau, only three other pitchers in the modern era with as many victories as Halladay posted more than twice as many wins as losses. The threesome consists of Lefty Grove (300-141), Whitey Ford (236-106) and Pedro Martinez (214-99). Talk about elite company."

I don't believe Halladay is going anywhere besides the mound for the Jays every 5 days. Unlike AJ Burnett and Roger 'shitface' Clemens way before him, Halladay doesn't long to one day wear the glorious pinstripes. Of course he wants a contender and a legitimate crack at a title, but if that place is finally Toronto, after all these years, then right-the-f***-on! Especially if the Jays reach the postseason this October, don't be surprised if the organization secures baseball's best pitcher for years to come with the all important contract extension. Make no mistake, it'll take record kinda money to keep the Doctor's practice in the Great White North, though if anyone deserves to be paid in filthy, stinking rich fashion it's Halladay. Show him the true promise, he'll show you the commitment. And that's what means the most. Look, the money isn't debatable. Halladay will get his truck load from any team able to pack one the tightest. The key is convincing him that making American dollars in a Canadian city is, was and will always be the best way to earn his living.

The Rays proved last year that traditional bottom feeders can eventually rise and conquer, today the Jays are suggesting it could be possible in any season.
127 games to go... and if 95 wins gets'em in... that means its a 72 and 55 clip the rest of the way. Tough task, but this team appears capable.
Don't feel sorry for AJ who was thoroughly booed in his return to Rogers Centre. He's making $18 million a season, has a lightning bolt for an arm, and besides most of those jeers were really "I miss you's". Fans revere, despise and loathe but they also care. Well, the exception of course is A-Roid. People just hate that guy. He's talented, spoiled and a cheater. What's not to hate?
As for the Jays, what's not to like? The greater question: can we fall in love again?
