Can't believe the final MLB opener at Yankee stadium was rained out. Of all the openers to succumb to Mother nature's wrath, why must it be the most important one on the schedule?
That said, despite the mist watering the hallowed field in the Bronx, they could've played. At least started the game.
The concern seemed to be more about the opening ceremonies than the game itself. Opening Day festivities are lenghty and tedious under normal circumstances, so you can only imagine how melodramatic and convoluted the final opening day at storied Yankee Stadium planned to be.
They'll try again tomorrow night. Word is the weather's supposed to be even worse. FACK!
I hate rainouts, game delays, cancellations etc... especially when we've already waited 5 plus months for things to start.
Still think the Jays will be right there battling for a playoff spot in mid-September. The time for this team to advance beyond game 162 is now.
