Yeah, nice.
So much for our last hurrah? More like hurry up and get this fucker over with. It wasn't the worst game the Leafs have ever played, but it ranks among them. And against the Canadiens? We expect better.
Many supporters believe these games should produce epic fight 'til the death struggles, but its obvious the modern day Leafs and Canadiens are either incapable or don't give a shit? One lopsided game after another in this series hardly suggests a deep burning rivalry. Sure, the Canadiens aim to impale Mikhail each and every shift, but they've been told too many times by the pompous and inward looking Montreal media that they are superior to the Leafs. So why put up an honest, respectable fight each and every time out?
What'll stick with me THE MOST from last night's game: the abundance of Bert and Ernie's favourite red sweater densely scattered throughout the scene. Like, what the fuck?? That's too many fans of the wrong team in one place for me. No foreign group should be able to take over the Leafs' house like that, even when the hosts fail to inspire. Its embarrassing.
Wonder if we can summon up TFC's rowdiest to correct the balance?
