You have to wonder if Roy Halladay feels a bit dejected?
He could've been pitching with a contender. Instead he's throwing for a go-nowhere against a go-somewhere that finally seems to have figured him out.
Doc doesn't take well to failure on the mound. How the heck does he do it on his days off?
Don't get me wrong. I still think Halladay is the game's best. It's obvious by just how much he battles even when things don't appear to be going his way. You have to believe though the mental wear and tear of the pre-deadline hype followed by the downer of no deal has left him in kind of a psychological "no man's land". If he didn't realize he was stuck in neutral before, he must now.
So now what?
I guess do what he's always done; keep the rest of the league drooling over what could've been while keeping the Jays just a tad better than a never will be. Here's to his next start.
