Message from a friend

I'm jumpin ship. 33 years Norm! I can't take anymore. I've had it. The deal for Kessel was the final straw. We're destined to finish worst overall this year and while we have an amazing shot at #1 in the draft it won't matter. Boston gets the pick! Next years too! I'm done! This team is a joke!

- "Former" Leafs fan

He's had it. Can you blame him? This team has people all twisted up. Anyway the rest of Leafsnation soliders on.

Kaptain Kaberle?

1st - Defenceman Scoring
T10th - Overall Scoring
2nd in Assists
6th in Points Per Game

Oh, and in his postgame interview in Montreal he demonstrated a real connection with the media for the first time in a while. Maybe ever. It's not as though his English is that much better, it's just that there's a real confidence to him right now. Slapping the "C" on his sweater might disrupt his great play. Maybe his great play is begging for the opportunity? Either way, Kaberle appears to be the new leader of this team. "C" or not, the Leafs need their best player to continue to be that. Well, if Phil Kessel turns out just a bit better you won't hear me complaining.

  1. Can I blame your friend for giving up on the Leafs? Absolutely! Your friend is showing he's not a true Leaf fan at all. Fans stick with their team no matter what, you only give up on a team if and only if that team abandons their city or goes bankrupt and ceases to exist. All due respect, but good riddance to your friend, the rest of us Leaf fans don't need his kind.

  2. Stucky, I'll say the same thing to you as I said to Julian... to each his own. I would never dream of supporting another team. I'd quit watching sports before I gave up on Toronto teams, but each person's threshold, breaking point is different. It's not my buddy's fault the Leafs have been so bad for so long. Let him wander off... far off. Funny thing is I think he's so frustrated that he's just saying things...to vent. You have to admit, the Leafs are playing with our emotions these days. Some can hack it. Some can't. BTW I really do appreciate you reading my blog.

If a guy said "I just can't take my wife anymore- she has lot's of great qualities, is working hard all the time to improve our marriage, but she just isn't doing what I want her to do", would you call him selfish, ignorant or simply a douchebag?
So sorry your friend has about as much hockey sense as a brick wall, and even less loyalty. Good riddance, and we don't want to see you back again when you change you mind- you see, the Leafs deserve much better than the kind of so-called fan that you are. I hear Ottawa, Vancouver and Phoenix are looking though. Here's $25, we don't want to hear from you again.

  4. Leafnation is a crazy place. Kinda like Canada, under appreciated, but big and strong. It'll survive without the old, and welcome the new.
