Schremp Robbed

On The Hook Friday night Rob Schremp admitted his draft experience in 2004 was a letdown. "It sucked", he said on the radio program. 25th overall? What's wrong with that? Certainly a dream come true for most. Not good enough though for the once rock star like Schremp. He anticipated a top 10, but his growing, damaging reputation pushed him to the brink of the evening. He'd wind up with Edmonton, a situation almost obvious from the get-go that wouldn't work out.

Listen to the full interview with Rob Schremp here, hour 2. Catch Nazem Kadri, Don Brankley and Mike In Buffalo here, hour 1.

Speaking for theft, what a steal Brian Burke committed with the 62nd pick on Saturday. St. Thomas' Greg McKegg was the choice. He'll be one the OHL's dominant players this coming season with the Erie Otters. Well, unless the London Knights trade for him. Kind of kidding about that, but he's a great young player, and perfect for the Leafs' development stable. As for Brad Ross out of Portland, pretty quality. And a surprise 2nd round selection to boot. Ross ia a Burke type of player. A Leaf type of player. A bit like Steve Downie with his head screwed on a little tighter.
