Memo to the Leafs:
Don't blow it tonight with a lacklustre effort. It's the Islanders, in your building, on a Monday night when the world is expecting big things from you. If history is suggests anything it's that it all has the makings of a serious dud. Ah, that's UNLESS you choose not to be like those old guys, and simply be your new and improved selves? And keep in mind, the contingent of anticipaters following your every move continues to grow. The real deal supporters will be watching, hoping, dreaming, as per usual, along with that jam-packed curiosity filled bangwagon. Geez, if any more jump on board and we're going to have to start dumping cargo.
Bottom line, folks, effort is what this entire season will be about. If it's there, the Leafs just might be too. If it wains, so too will the pain of another playoff-less campaign.
8 points in the bank. 85 to get. That count could climb/fall tonight with a couple more added on, conditional upon that effort thing, of course.
