Another killer with some ol' friends on Da Hook Friday, June 18th..
Mike Boothman on the World Cup. Sure hope England win because we might not get much out of him otherwise.
John Surla on the Mustangs. Life as a leader. Can one man, any one thing prevent the type of nonsense that had been going at Waterloo?
London's Cheryl Finn on One Run. It's a week away. Therese Carriere is as determined as ever to connect London and Sarnia, all in the name of breast cancer research and awareness.
Mike In Buffalo will also stop in. Is Ilya Kovalchuk to the Leafs as much of a non-starter as Brian Burke wants us to believe? Plus more rumours as the NHL draft approaches.
It goes down Friday, 8pm, am980.ca
Oh, check out London City marksman, Tom Beattie. So deadly from Danger. .
vs. White Eagles June 11

There's always tomorrow
chillin'... home today with this villain of a headache. Hopefully good to go in time for tomorrow's 6'er.. and radio show to follow.
Jason de Vos checks in on Da Hook. The Canadian soccer legend covers Toronto FC for CBC and GolTV... unfortunately right now. The Reds are a questionable product at the moment. It's early though. Plenty of time for a revival... right?
Stangs' LB, John Surla will drop by... in studio... in da flesh. "Sur John" is the reigning OUA defensive player of the year. Should he have been tops in the nation? No doubt he'll comment.
Plus AM980's Scott Monich in da house from 9 pm 'til 10 pm.
And we'll see if can't track down the Prince of Genesee county, Mike Augello. His Sabres and Habs are really rollin' right now.
Oh, Rangers in 6... unfortunately.

Da Hook tonight
Michael Faulds chases the All-time passing record. But he's not feeling 100 percent. Shouldn't he be resting for the playoffs instead? We'll talk about it with Mustangs' linebacker, John Surla. Big John.
After 9 -- Manchester United v. Liverpool. The greatest all-time? Mike Boothman and Ian Clarke drop by the program to weigh in.
Tomorrow -- We'll break down the Blues and Stangs, size up the OUA football playoff picture and have a convo with former NHL official, Ray Scapinello. Scampy lives in Guelph these days. What else is he doing? Find out.. AND local guy, dual lacrosse champion, Scott Carnegie on Da Hook.

Football players aren't scared
Stupid me... I need to rephrase a few of my questions, particularly to Gary Jeffries and John Surla. I wondered if they feared their opponents by asking them if they were "scared"? lol
Anyway, neither the Stangs nor the Hawks were willing to give an inch while posturing Friday evening on "The Hook", the football edition I might add. What a fun show! Lot's to talk about with plenty of interaction from our listeners. Straight up. I love it!
Thanks to both John and Gary for their time. Heavy appreciation to our callers on Friday, September 11th, some of whom are NFL followers, others are supporters of "our game". All of course, big fans of university football. We are too.
Congrats to Brian and Tyler, winners of tickets to Saturday's Hawks/Stangs game. I'm going Western. A 3 point win. Laurier's got game and will be jacked up, but Western ain't shit if it can't defend TDW. Not sure if Marshall's boys go all the way? I'm pretty sure they won't be going out like that against Laurier. Won't be easy though.
B-Man, if you're out there...thanks! Thanks for reminding our listeners how crappy I am at making weekly NFL picks. Actually, the first year I ran a pool through http://bman.com/ I won the darn thing. Last year, not so much. I kinda stunk out the joint, plus Brent Lale was involved and that guy is pretty much a picks guru. Again though, B-Man was a great sport and a good person to talk to about a pastime almost as intense as the football season itself.
Saturday on "The Hook" with Norman James:
Knights' assistant GM, Jim McKellar. Jimmy offers an insider's perspective on the Knights season ahead, plus his opinion on why John Tavares wasn't enough to conquer those pesky Spitfires last Spring.
Also
Ian Clarke of http://rednationonline.ca/ gives us the low down on TFC's first ever designated player signing. A guy all the way from...Toronto? Yep. Ian will also have more on Danny Dichio's retirement and whether TFC can get its shit together before the playoff window closes.
That's it. Peace.
