...oh, and women's tennis. Worth watching on TV? I guess only if Venus and Serena are playing. But only one remains at the Rogers Cup in Toronto, so count me out.
On "The Hook" Friday evening, Tigercats GM, Bob O'Billovich. He likes the fact more Americans are playing in the league. I wish there were less. Well, as long as the Canadians willing to take their places are good enough. Bob coached the '83 Argos to a Grey Cup. Growing up in Toronto, I remember that city-wide celebration vividly. Might of been the last time I was REALLY into the CFL?
UWO's Andy Watson used Friday's edition of "The Hook" to issue a challenge to the good people of London. He wants us to give Western sports a try, like get out to game or two. Considering just how competitive Mustangs' teams are, it's probably worth your time. The Football team is again supposed to go deep, but Andy points out a tough early schedule awaits the club.
And Mike Darling of Oakridge Oaks football told us why his team is in training camp already. While not usually legal at the high school level, the early practice is okay this summer because his Oaks are participating in a home and home series with a team from Cardston, Alberta. First game, Tuesday afternoon at TD Waterhouse Stadium. Good luck, Oaks.
